Database

The Illinois Natural History Survey Mammal Collection provides access to more than 37,000 specimen records representing over 170 species from 25 families from Illinois and surrounding Midwestern states. It contains 23 Type specimens, 4 federally endangered species, and two federally threatened species. Records include skins, skulls, skeletons, frozen tissue, hair, fluid, and photos to support research and species identification.

The Mammal Collection Database is online and searchable, including all specimen information and digitized specimens.
